Mushrooms are a time-tested source of nutrients that boost the body whether it be for immunity or brain strength. Essential Shrooms combines many different types of therapeutic mushrooms for the ultimate synergistic effect.

The product name “essential shrooms” is a play on words but really brings out the importance of many key nutrients for immune and brain health that are found in this formula.

The wealth of beneficial nutrients found in most mushrooms are found in beta-glucans. Beta-glucans are responsible for antitumor growth, immuno-modulating antioxidants and neuro-protective chemicals. This makes mushrooms full of antioxidants, which have been shown to greatly benefit the immune system and work as an anti-inflammatory, which helps regulate immune function.

Another research-backed nutrient is polysaccharides. Polysaccharides are all over biology and used in hydrolysis, glycogenesis, glycosylation, and glycogenolysis.

Polysaccharides are considered to be classic T-cell-independent antigens that do not elicit cell-mediated immune responses. Rather, most bacterial polysaccharides elicit humoral immunity that results in the induction of low-affinity immunoglobulin M (IgM) and some IgG antibodies.

One such “shroom” is Lion’s Mane. It’s rich in beta-glucans, which are responsible for antitumor growth, immuno-modulating antioxidants and neuro-protective chemicals, providing nutritional aid against cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Lion’s Mane is shown to have a positive impact on something called nerve growth factor, improving the development and function of nerves.

Reishi mushrooms are packed with polysaccharides associated with supporting immune function, improved sleep, and reduced stress and fatigue.

Cordyceps sinensis is a wormy-looking mushroom and the most expensive mushroom in the world costing over $20,000 per kilogram, sold almost exclusively in Asia. It is a rare combination of a caterpillar and a mushroom and found at high altitudes in the Himilayan Plateau.

Cordyceps has been shown to improve lung capacity and increase energy by increasing ATP production, helping boost energy and stamina. It’s popular among athletes to boost physical performance.

Cordyceps sinensis is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine that has been used for centuries in Asia as a tonic to soothe the lung for the treatment of respiratory diseases. Today, it’s used for lung-related issues like asthma and seasonal allergies. In one study on the effect of cordyceps sinensis on COPD, researchers found that administering said nutrient improved airways and reduced inflammation.

Turkey tail is one of the most well researched medicinal mushrooms. It has been shown to improve immune function by stimulating cytokine production, increasing natural killer cells and other immune boosting functions.

Shiitake mushroom is probably the most well-known mushroom in this formula. It is great for immunity, liver function, and supports the cardiovascular system. Shiitake has long been used as both a food and a supplement, and is thought to boost longevity and improve circulation. Lentinan, a polysaccharide in shiitake mushrooms, has shown great promise as an immunotherapy agent.

Maitake mushrooms are known to help regulate our immune systems by stimulating the immune system’s lymphocytes such as natural killer cells and t-helper cells. Maitake contains polysaccharides such as beta-glucans, which have been linked to healthy cell growth and turnover.

Inonotus obliquus (the chaga mushroom) is a nutrient-dense superfood shown to have myriad health benefits, including lowering cholesterol, slowing the aging process, and more.

Chaga’s primary function is on natural killer cells, increasing their activity. Chaga has been shown to regulate the production of cytokines, supporting the immune system by helping cells communicate with one another. This can help fight infections, from minor colds to life-threatening illnesses.

Chaga’s role in regulating cytokine production may also help control inflammation. This points to a role for chaga in fighting autoimmune conditions and possibly some other diseases.
