Balance, Invigorate & Heal With Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used for centuries dating back to ancient Egypt and China where they were recognized for their therapeutic properties. Today, essential oils are just as relevant and are especially popular in aromatherapy, the practice of using aromatic combinations to improve health and wellbeing.

Lavender
Properties: Balancing, Soothing & Relaxing

Cultivated throughout the world and lauded for its versatility, the lavender plant is used in culinary applications, landscape design, and herbal medicine. Extracted through a steam distillation process, lavender oil is frequently utilized for its antiseptic properties, and has a fresh, flowery scent that has been shown to aid in relaxation. Lavender oil has also been shown to relieve burns and aid in a restful night’s sleep when applied to pulse points. We recommend diluting lavender with Jojoba or coconut oil prior to topical application, or using it with a room diffuser to bring a sense of calm to your home or office.

Eucalyptus
Properties: Invigorating, Disinfecting & Decongesting

This native Australian plant loves warm, temperate climates and is the koala bear’s primary source of food. Extracted from the eucalyptus tree, eucalyptus essential oil is used to relieve cold and flu symptoms, and its spicy, stimulating scent has been shown to invigorate the senses and increase blood flow to the brain. Rub diluted eucalyptus oil onto sore muscles or diluted with water as a spray to keep mosquitoes and other summer pests at bay. When used in a room diffuser, eucalyptus has been shown to relieve congestion and mental exhaustion.

Peppermint
Properties: Cooling, Refreshing & Stimulating

Commonly found in gum and candy, peppermint oil is more than just a flavoring used in your favorite sweet treats. Cultivated throughout the world, peppermint has been shown to relieve IBS, nausea, and abdominal pain. Peppermint’s sweet, menthol aroma also makes it an excellent breath freshener. We recommend adding a few drops of peppermint and lemon essential oil to a spray bottle with water to create a refreshing and deodorizing foot spray.

Lemon
Properties: Purifying, Cleansing & Detoxifying

Bright and detoxifying, lemon essential oil is extracted from the peel of the lemon. Used frequently in household cleansers, lemon oil also makes an effective deodorizer when used in a diffuser. Lemon essential oil can also be diluted and rubbed on tired feet, or dipped on a cotton ball and inhaled to revive and rejuvenate. We love lemon essential oil for its ability to remove gum, grease and adhesives from unwanted places too.
